School History

Altus Schools North County, formerly known as Audeo Charter School III, opened for student enrollment on July 1, 2018. It was established as a visionary model for educational reform. Designed for students who have not found success in traditional school settings, Altus Schools North County provides a unique educational environment for students whose academic and social needs do not fit the traditional approaches.

Altus Schools North County students have the flexibility to accelerate their learning, the support to catch up, and the guidance to graduate. Our teachers are available in the Resource Centers to provide personalized, one-on-one support as needed. Courses are assigned based on each student’s academic and career goals, developed in collaboration with counselors and parents at the time of enrollment. Additionally, a range of specialized Student Pathways are available to better align with individual learning needs and aspirations.

The 2023-2024 school year marked Altus Schools 30th year of serving the San Diego County community. During this time, Altus Schools North County has demonstrated success, operationally and instructionally, while serving the population charter law was intended to serve.
